Patrick Dwyre

A recent transplant from Southern California, Patrick joined Make Studio in 2023 and quickly demonstrated how he had honed his art practice during his prior tenure with Tierra del Sol in Sunland, CA, a similar studio. 

Patrick utilizes a distinct manner of thickly layering primarily pastels and woodless colored pencils, sometimes using strategic scraping to define expressive forms that are often depictions of architecture and places — a technique evident in the three variously colored examples in the firm’s collection. He enjoys patiently “playing the long game” in his work, with extensive layer-upon-layer application.
