Mirlande is a multimedia artist who has been creating inspiring collages for more than 30 years. She takes her inspiration from motherhood, “one of the least appreciated and respected work but for me it is one of the most important and it’s beautiful.” Mirlande also draws from her Haitian ancestry, “especially the creative, powerful and tenacious women of the marketplace,” her grandmother being one of them.

She has been exhibited in Baltimore, MD, and New York, NY. Mirlande also received the Maryland State Council for the Arts-Individual Artist and was commissioned by Baltimore Center Stage to create original artwork for its 2019-2020 season.

A self-taught artist, she earned her bachelor’s degree in international marketing from Baruch College, which is part of City University of New York in New York, NY.

I love the fact that there are so many different types of talented artists in Baltimore. There's always something interesting going on!
