Carol Ghingher Cooper, Member
Carol Ghingher Cooper focuses her practice primarily in Family Law. She represents clients in matters related to divorce, custody and child access, visitation, child support, alimony, spousal support, division of assets, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and other family law-related litigation.
Carol has represented clients in Baltimore City and Baltimore, Howard, Anne Arundel, Carroll, Harford and Montgomery counties.
She is experienced in litigation, negotiation and alternative dispute resolution.
Her practice includes mediation where she acts as a neutral mediator and she also represents clients in the mediation process.
Carol also regularly acts as a volunteer settlement conference facilitator for the family law division of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City.
She is trained in Collaborative Law and has advocated for clients through her Collaborative Law practice.
Carol is a founding member of The Collaborative Professionals of Baltimore, a group of interdisciplinary professionals dedicated to promoting the highest degree of service excellence in the field of Collaborative Law practice. The group serves “to develop and promote collaborative practice as an effective means of alternative dispute resolution and to offer professionals of all disciplines involved in dispute resolution, and the populations they serve, a humane and respectful way to resolve conflicts.”
Carol has been actively involved in the Family Law committees of the Baltimore City and Baltimore County Bar Associations.
She interned for three judges of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City and has contributed to local family law publications.
On June 15, 2015, Carol was appointed as a Standing Auditor for the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. In this role, she handles all matters which require an audit; and she examines, states or settles accounts referred to her by the court.
In her leisure, Carol enjoys attending sporting events and concerts, going to the movies, watching the Baltimore Ravens, exercising, and reading.
